No-Show, Ankle or Crew? Sock Heights Explained
Sock height changes how an outfit looks and how your shoes feel. Here is a simple guide to which height to wear, and when.

Walk into any sock drawer and you will find a mix of heights. Each one has a job, and choosing the right one keeps your shoes comfortable and your outfit looking deliberate.
No-show socks
These sit below the edge of the shoe so your ankle looks bare. Wear them with loafers, canvas shoes and low trainers when you want a clean, sockless look without the sweat.
Ankle socks
Ankle socks cover the bone just above the shoe. They are the everyday choice for trainers, gym sessions and casual outings.
Crew socks
Crew socks reach the lower calf. They work with boots, dress shoes and anything where trousers might ride up when you sit. Patterned crew socks are also the easiest way to add personality to a plain outfit.
